Each show brings me new ideas on how to grow the business. The ability to talk to so many different operators at once to ask questions and share ideas is invaluable. Always great to compare the cars side by side as well and see both the familiar and new vendors. Thanks to the folks at Limo Digest for a great show!

My only complaint is that Atlantic City is still in the year 2001 as far as internet access goes. There is not a facility with wireless internet capability inside of of 30 minute drive (ie Starbucks or Borders with TMobile Hotspots). Not even an internet cafe that I could find. Even the business center at the Taj a minimum $7.50 charge for access to a modem - no LAN! I know the hotels want you in the casino, not the internet, but it sure was a pain to go back to dialup modem for a week. Most decent hotels these days are installing LAN access in the rooms for $7-$10 a day. Even that would have been nice...

If this problem isn't remedied by some local shop owner before next year, here's a suggestion to Limo Digest or the NLA - set up a TMobile booth with wireless access on the show room floor or in the NLA lounge....

The show was okay, a little to pricey for what it's worth. I think the LANJ meeting on tuesday was a waste of time. They should of never have had the vendors do the presentations during the meeting, it wasted valuable time and I could of gotten all of their info on the show floor if i wanted to instead of being force fed the sales pitches during the meeting. With so many local and national issues on the table they barely opened the floor for any questions from the members.

One other thought came to mind: The Ask the Manufacturer meetings should be scheduled in the first day or two, not the last seminar hour of the last day. Attendence was very thin for this meeting - not what I have been used to seeing from past shows. And the time for these particular seminars should be 1.5 to 2 hours instead of 45 minutes to an hour. During the Ask Lincoln mtg about 80% of the time was consumed by Lincoln's update (which was fine) but there was not much time to ask questions...I'd like to hear more about what problems people are experiencing with their vehicles and those meetings are a good venue to do it. I thought this board was a good forum too, but there were several issues brought up by operators which I had never heard of before, and it seemed many people had been experiencing them...

I wonder why doesn't The Digest offer a "show floor" only option when purchasing your show tickets. So many operators questioned that at the show this year and they have a point. I could imagine the huge expense it must be to put one of these things together but why force people to pay for seminars if they only want to see the new products available! Digest has to be making a very nice profit from these shows or else they would not produce it year after year. I'm sure they would be able to figure in this type of pricing structure into their bottom line. What do you guy's think?
