Here is one to show your driver on the importance of the seat belt:

    Drive Cam- No belt

It may not be for the weak stomach, but no blood

Ain't no faking that....check the DriveCam website. There are some other sleepy folks on there too. The camera only captures 15-30 seconds before and after an 'event'. He was probably dozing for some time before hand. You can tell exactly when the camera noted an 'event' when the Time goes to zero and you see the FG and SG indicators light up.

For anyone who has drivers (beside yourself) it is DEFINITELY worth the investment. We have them in all of our vehicles. The most common driver fault we have found is Hard Cornering (always when the driver is alone without clients). It's a great training/counseling tool, and in some cases immediate dismissal may be in order.

Even if you only drive yourself it could save you a costly insurance claim if one of your cars were ever in an accident. No more he said/she said when its all documented in digital color with sound.

Steve, where did you come across this video?

They need to have this displaying at the DMV.

I tried to go to DriveCam's site to see more videos, but when they came up, they wouldn't play... Maybe just my system.

    Greg K.,
Someone posted it over at cragslist, I frequent there. Looks to be hosted on someones personal account. Maybe it is the video that got them fired. Be patient on drivecams videos to come up, I am on cable and it takes about 45sec to 1 min. to show up. They use thier own kind of viewer that does not show status.

    Later!!!

The fact the pedestrian is still alive can only be described as Providence.

Got to remember the drive cam only records 30 seconds or so before a G shock event so he was probly dozing off for a long time before the other car struck him, we only saw the last critical moments.

UPDATE in regards to the original video in the thread:

Was just watching a show on Court TV called "Most Shocking" and this clip was on it, and actually has the clip from the view out the front window as well.

It is from Yellow Cab company in Huntington, West Virginia. From the front video, you can see he drifted off of the road and hit where a metal guardrail connects into the end of a cement railing on a bridge. The car then went into the median ditch. They did say the driver did survive.

They did show two other clips from the company's Drive Cam systems as well. They look quite effective.

PS. The link to the video has changed, it is now http://www.stupidvideos.com/video/ju...Sleepy_Driver/
