The current one is at the DCA on state law awaiting return to Federal Court.
I'll be seeing the attorney tomorrow to check on the progress of finalizing the one against the State challenging the constitutionality of the special act, violation of the the federal preemption & numerous 4th, 5th & 14th amendment issues including the Super Bowl, enacting a special law that places pricing controls on lawful businesses and the Sherman Act .

This airport crap may be that straw that finally broke the camels back:

I've received 4 calls so far today from operators I've never spoke to.

They've had it with both the PTC & the airport picking their pockets.

The consensus is that this is taxi driven with WFLA undertones.

That this is another move at increasing operating costs to drive the mom & pops out of business.

One has an appointment with my lawyer.

The FITA site visits are off the scale.

I've been contacted by a reporter who wants to do a full blown story towards the time frame TIA will announce their move on the limos.

Tampa Airports plan to soak the operators may have been the best thing that could happen to wake people up.

All In All, a very productive day.

2 of my releases are on top under GOOGLE News & holding top spot for both Tampa Airport & Limousines under GOOGLE news. The limousine position has just gots to be pissing someone off! Interestingly enough, the #1 referral release to the FITA Site, I can't find it.

Here is a press release that didn't get picked up on GOOGLE:
    Super Shuttle Takes Over TIA

Just one of those dots that must be connected in the whole protect the revenue stream move of upping limo service rates through economically imposed regulatory that raises the operational costs.

Note the deal cut is for over $1/2 million or 3% of the action whichever is greater. Knock down the customer limo base through pricng out of competition, people move over to other forms of transport ie., taxis & shuttles.

"Any person who operates a public vehicle upon the public highways without a certificate, permit, or public vehicle drivers license as provided by this act and any rules adopted in accordance with this act or who operates a public vehicle using a canceled certificate, or who violates any of the provisions of this act or any rules adopted in accordance with this act may be enjoined by the courts of this state from any such violation" Section 11 ( 2 ) ch2001-299 Laws Of Florida

    Attention Local Limousine Associations:

If your City is in bidding against Tampa for a Large Special Event that that will require the importing of outside based limousines, vans and small buses as part of the guarantee to secure the contract, use the above referenced law & present it to your local officials/delegation vying for the special event.

This is not a local ordinance but a State Law that no one in Tampa may usurp in guaranteeing additional transportation to support a large event. Not the clown running the PTC, not the Mayor nor any commissioner or delegation member has the authority to allow vehicles and drivers who have not met the prerequisites set forth under Florida Law into Tampa to provide for-hire passenger transportation. Under the same law, any person who procures, aids, or abets in the violation of any provision of this act is guilty of a criminal offense and misdemeanor in accordance with section 775.08 F.S..

The use of this law by another city in a bidding war with Tampa can result in victory for the for the opposing city & the operators of that city will benefit from the win. Do Not allow Tampa to steal the event away with fraudulent guarantees such as made to the NFL for the 2009 Super Bowl!

In response to a FITA letter opposing the soon-to-be fees imposed on limousines that was sent to Florida Senators & cc to the Executive Director of Tampa International, The TIA ED informs the Senators of all the "Shuttle Companies" that provide transportation to outlying counties.

Maybe this clown should have his mother take a shuttle to a county 50 - 80 miles away. Let her sit in the AP for 1 - 2 hours then spend another 2 - 3 hours in transient. Or, how would he feel if his moither was left stranded because the flight was 2 hours late & she missed the bus.

Just announced on the news, the Chair of the HCPTC is calling for an official investigation of the Executive Director of the HCPTC Greg Cox.

Investigative Reporter Mike Deeson had it confirmed by a limo operator that he was threatened by Cox that he could lose his certificate & permits if he leased a permit to a van operator who dared challenge Cox on a citation (and won). This plus other incidents have opened that door for which I'm sure a whole lot more dirty secrets will come out.

As always, the little guy will take down Goliath. Sit back & watch NLA, TLPA & WFLA!

Just reported to me from the VP of the FITA attending the monthly HCPTC meeting:

    Motion passed by the Commission to;
immediately suspend the Executive Director for 30 Days
    investigate hostile workplace
investigate the HCPTC (?) on what parts or functions
conduct a county audit of the HCPTC financials

The waiver for the Hybrid was "Denied"

    BUSTED!

Why is Florida Overtime issue on the plate for the NLA Quarterly President's Conference Call?

Sounds like a local issue to me that has no national impact.

Maybe the NLA lovers who have stated that the NLA's focus should be on national issues can shed some light on this?

In the meantime, Florida Driver's/Chauffeur's better pay attention to what is going down!

I will do everthing I can to throw a monkey wrench into any proposed change of law as soon as the Bill is published.

The FITA Site hits 4100 page views.

My 1st foray into building a website using a basic YAHOO program has quickly become the "turn to" information site.

Top pages viewed & not unexpectant is Federal & Florida Transportation Laws.

I will continue to tweak & add to these pages including naming the Florida Taxicab Barons & providing links to local regulatory ordinances.
