    Default LimoAnywhere

Can anyone tell me how long LimoAnywhere has looked and operated like it does in its current form? It seems like I'm using a program from about 10-15 years ago. All the hoops you have to jump through to set up your preferences, the dated look and feel of it, the overly complicated process of inputing basic information for company preferences so it operates correctly.

A good program should be intuitive. An iPad doesn't even come with instructions.

I know they just upped their monthly fees. I really hope that they are using the money to develop a completely overhauled program.

    Hear hear.

We have asked, begged, pleaded for updates and have told over and over that changes would happen. Nothing. We can't import large groups, which is a huge part of our business, even though it's just a data base and the fix would be extremely simple. And yes, it's looked about like this since at least 2008.

Good luck - we are currently in contact with a company in Massachusetts who is working on a system that may be an improvement.

I was the lucky one that was given limoanywhere in 2007 for free and started using it finally this year. I agree with John, I normally have a staff member copy and paste all the large groups information into the system. Still is a good system and you can train anyone with the you tube videos.

Anyone else having problems with the program freezing up? Numerous times within the last two weeks, the program will not save a reservation after all the information has been entered.

I have to completely log out and log back in several times to get it to work. This happens with both Google Chrome browser and Internet Explorer.

I have that problem if I am logged into the system from two different computers (same user, and a computer can be a computer phone or tablet)

I have been using this system from it's inception and have never had any major problems, a few glitches here and there but always resolved in a timely fashion! I stand behind Limo Anywhere 100%

I've been using it for about 5 years and never had a single problem. Every complaint I've heard about them is usually with corporate work. I do almost all retail work and for what I need it exceeds my expectations.

I bet my tablet stays logged in. I didn't think of it, maybe I'll assign a different username to it. Thanks!

I didn't say that I don't like it, I just think that it could be better. I hope they update the software with current technology trends, I would rather stay with them than to go to a completely new system.

Hey hey... our software is not dated... it's "vintage"

Humor set aside though, we are well aware of some of the cosmetic and functional imperfections of our software. It's a constant work in progress and we do plan on overhauling some of the most critical components over the next 12 months. With the size/scope of our product, nothing can move very fast unfortunately, but we'll be pushing updates one little piece at a time.

As you pointed out, we do have a lot of preferences in the system and I do agree that sometimes you have to jump through hoops to get to them. It takes a lot of preferences to accommodate 3400 operators' business models

Over the past year or so our focus has been primarily on system uptime, disaster recovery and scalability. When the system is down or is impossibly slow, no one cares what it looks like or what features it has. We've been addressing issues such as users losing their sessions (i.e. being kicked out), system being slow and a variety of other annoyances. So we've been "re-architecting" a lot of what you can't see to make sure you guys can continue to operate should our data center blow up or if we sign up five times more customers than we usually do one month. Now we're investing heavily in what you can see.

As for managing groups... I've proposed this before, but would anyone be interested in putting together a group of users to design and build a group management feature for Limo Anywhere based on our API? We'll gladly pay for the development to a third-party as long as you guys manage the entire project. It could be a stand-alone web-based application that anyone could connect to their LA account using our free API. Give it some thought guys and let me know.

Thank you everyone for your comments, compliments and constructive criticism.

I have been using Limo Anywhere for several years... I think I was one of the first 500 on the system. LA has been a very good system with few problems. Yes there is room for some improvement, but there is in all livery software. La has made a huge improvement with ORES 4.0 and the Dashboard. If you have not moved over the the new ORES 4.0 I suggest doing so.

Like Max mentioned in the quote above, share you ideas with what you would like in a group management feature or any other idea you have. I have a few programmers that are very familiar with the Limo Anywhere API. We are current working on a few add on features that I have wanted and will be available soon.

In the next few weeks we should be ready to launch a Automated Driver Wake UP system. We are testing the system now. After setting a few options our Driver Wake Up system will sync with LA and automatically calculate the time a driver should confirm. The system will then text message the driver. If they don't reply to the text message then they will receive an automated call. If the driver confirms on either the text message or automated call, then you will receive an email stating the driver has confirm he/she is awake. If they don't confirm them the system will email and or call an supervisor to alert them that the driver has not confirm. There are more options but this is the basic concept.

We are also working on a automated driver status system and a screen pop up option for the dispatchers. The automated driver statuses will allow you to give one phone out for all your chauffeurs. When any one call the number they will be asked to enter the reservation number or the system can find the trip by Caller ID. If the trip is within the time frame you select, such as 2 hours prior to trip and 2 hour after the trip the system will tell them what the current status is and when it was last changed. You will also be able to configure when the call can be forwarded to the drivers cell without giving them the drivers number... Yes it will also work by text message. I will release more features as it gets closer to testing.

I'm wanting to start working on other features such as Quickbooks integration. I am open for any ideas that you have for added features.

Please contact me directly at gary@affts.com with you ideas or for more information. If you want to be contact when the above features are released and ready send me an email and request to be added to the mailing list.

    Max,

Thanks for the response. I'm glad to hear that you are already working on an update. Thanks for filling all of us in on the behind the scenes work on the system.

I'm a small company in SW Florida. We have 2 sedans, 1 SUV and 1 120" limo. Our winters are busy with a lot of airport runs. I'm thinking of getting limo anywhere mostly for the affiliate connections with other users. The dispatch screen looks complicated but I'm willing to try it. Do you find that you get more affiliate runs because you are on the system?

Short answer, no. I usually find out what system my affiliates use after I pretty much decide to start working with them. If they have LimoAnywhere, it's a bonus.
