    He at first it seems tried to obtain coverage from the at-fault party's carrier, but they were not responsive. He then I assume started to obtain coverage from his carrier, at which time the at-fault party's carrier responded and with favorable terms.

    There are a few 'B'-rated carriers around that are very good companies, they just are 'B's' by design (don't ask why, but there is a carrier that we work closely with that is a 'B' and they just do not want to change their rating yet I strongly trust their claims handling and ability to do so fairly. It is a shame they are not at least 'A-' because their rating prevents them from being able to write in certain areas as well as nice accounts) or they are 'B's" because it is reflective of how they operate.
