Default Cadillac XTS rear seat head room. Too low?

I have been a private corporate Chauffeur for 20 years and have 5 years limo company experience in the New York tri-state area. Last week I got a chance to sit in a new Cadillac XTS at a dealer in Queens NY.
The first thing I do when looking at a car for Chauffeured service is put the front passenger seat all the way forward and then sit in the back right seat.
I am 6'0" tall. The XTS dose not have enough head room for me. Its about 2 inches short of head room. It also has only about one inch of space between the right side of my head and the side over the door beam.
I would say the tallest person that would have a necessary at least one inch of over head clearance for ridding over bumps in the city would be 5'9". And you will still clunk your head against the over the door beam.
Lack of necessary head room for any one 5'10" puts this car out of the running for chauffeured service in my book.

Has anyone here experienced the same issue with the XTS?

The Chrysler 300 and the Lincoln MKS have the same head room problems as the Cadillac XTS.

And the MKT will never be accepted as anything but an expensive and ugly soccer mom mini van / car. And if you stretch one, it will look like a Funeral Hurst.

So what dose that leave us with going forward after the end of the Town Car for under $75,000.00?

I was able to buy fairly low-mileage Town Cars but when these are done I"m planning on expanding the SUVs. However, there are some clients who absolutely insist on sedans - I'm thinking the 300 may be the best bet. My experience with the DTS has not been good (maintenance, tires, inside room) and the government is finally going to kill the big sedans.

A 8 inch stretch version is in the works:

With VERY strict CAFE standards just around the corner all vehicles will be getting smaller. Steve

Obviously, there are some people on this forum that have no idea what they are talking about. I know of several companies using the new MKT Town Car and their clients absolutely LOVE the car. Plenty of room on the inside. Great safety features. More technology than the Town Car sedans. There are plenty of reasons to move to the MKT Town Car. As for SUVs costing less than $75,000, where on Earth are you shopping for SUVs? A fully loaded Navigator L runs only $64,000 MSRP.

The W20 mentioned in that article is a standard length livery sedan. Once the hearse and limo base units become available there will also be a W30 available - that a coachbulder will be able to extend to a maximum of 8". (1) At this time that will not be a Cadillac product, but a coachbuilder product (as it was with the W20's) and (2) The rear headroom will remain the same regardless of if the vehicle is stretched either 8", 70", or 0".

You are 100% correct about the CAFE standard issue. It would not surprise me if the price and availability of SUV's got significantly more expensive (gas guzzler tax) if the OEM's are no longer allowed to exempt them from their overall fleet fuel averages.
