Default Air Spring Conversion on 1996 Lincoln Town Car

Recently I bought a 1996 LTC 85" Stretch. This is a private use car. I have read previous post, but I want to be sure. It is best replace the air spring with a conversion kit, best from strutmasters. And contact them and order the limo spring kit made for an 85" stretch. Am I correct and does anybody have any other suggestions.

Oh, I noticed the car leaning slightly to the driver side, but i have not climbed unde the car to find the exact problem yet, was just pre-planning...

You can get the bags on e-bay shipped any where in the USA, for 129.00, it's a 30 min swap...

NO!! Dont do it! I'm not sure if it's the same for that year, but anything 1999 and up should ONLY be replaced with airbags and NOT doing the conversion. There are no coversion kits out there that are made for limos!

I tried the coil springs with adjustable air shocks and was not happy with the ride quailty (hard and sensitive to bumps ).
After a few months of worrying about bottoming out and adjusting the ride height I gladly went back to the airbags.
As far as I'm concerned just let the car do " it's thing!!!

Now you also must keep in mind that a compressor can go bad ( ebay) or online shopping but all mechanical things are prone to faliure at some point.

Before you go to Strutmasters, check with www.arnottindustries.com ... I recently replaced the rear bags and solonoids in my 120" LTC... Strutmasters was rotten to deal with, didn't have everything in stock and the prices were crazy-high compared to Arnott. The bags Strutmasters wanted to sell me were the plastic-cup style, the ones I got from Arnott were the good Firestone aluminum-cup style.

Thank you all for your advise. Now I just need to get the car back from the body shop so I can fix the rest of it... (and climb under it too see why we got that lean thing going on...

If your vehicle is leaning and it's not a leaking airbag 9 times out of 10 it has something to do with your frontend.

Yeah, I saw that in a previous post. I soon find out when it gets back from the body shop...
