What thickness plexiglass would you use to build a disco floor 1/4" or 1/2"? I'd like to run LED tape around it?
What about side panels like the one by the bar?
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

I would use half inch polycarbonate, plexi will scratch too easily.

When I was building a bus, I called a plastic supplier company and asked them about plexi vs polycarb. They told me polycarbonate is harder to break, but they also said it scratches much easier then plexi.
So I went with acrylic plexi for my dancefloor. I also covered it with clear vinyl sticker. Every couple of months now I have to peel the sticker from the floor and glue a new one. The sticker keeps the plexi free from scratches (at least the small ones), but it also gets dirty fast. It is a lot of work to maintain that floor nice and clean.
Do you have any dancefloors with polycarb? Do they stay clear and scratch free? I cant believe I was told polycarb scratches easier than plexi at a Plastics company!

I've only used it for stripper stages in buses, I've never done a dance floor. I've had two pieces next to each other that were both sandblasted and you could see that the polycarbonate hardly glowed compared to the other because the sandblasting didn't tear into it enough. I read somewhere that its 10x more dense than plexiglass. You can tell by lifting them that the polycarbonate weighs much more.

They also make an acrilyc that is scratch resistant on one side but it cost about 3 times as much.
Has anyone considered light sanding the floor? I built a illuminated wall display years ago for a tradeshow. It was just a sign on a wall but basically it had the same concept as a dance floor from "Saturday Night Fever".
I sanded (basically i scuffed the entire surface) it. it made the plexi look like it was frosted. LIght still showed thru it (mine had strobes in it) but when it was off it looked like frosted glass.
