Received this notice signed by Sara at LCT. Seems to state if you don't want to pay to hawk your wares at the LCT Show, stay the fark out. As a disclaimer, I do not offer an opinion but am simply posting the word:
Dear LCT Show Delegate,
As we gear up for the 2010 International Limousine, Charter and Tour Show, I would like to call your attention to an important change in our show policy.
We will no longer accept attendee registrations from non-exhibiting suppliers. We have decided to make attending our event available only to owners and employees of for-hire transportation companies. In the past, we allowed non-exhibiting suppliers such as vehicle modifiers, consultants, insurance agents, leasing agents, dealers as well as Internet and technology companies to attend our convention by purchasing a standard attendee badge. This will no longer be the case.
All suppliers to the limousine, charter and tour industries will be allowed admittance ONLY if they are exhibitors at the show or purchase a non-exhibiting supplier pass. This new policy will be strictly enforced at both registration and throughout the event via plain-clothed security. Violators will be escorted from the show by security.
This may sound severe, but the main goal for hosting the International LCT Show (dating back to 1984) has always been to bring our advertisers (and exhibiting customers) and our readership together in the spirit of promoting business relationships. We cannot afford to let the exhibitors' time and expense of being there diluted by companies and agents that "sell from the aisles."
Times are tough and we know people are feeling the pressure to generate leads on shoestring budgets. However, in this climate we believe we have a duty to protect the value of participating in the event as an exhibitor and/or sponsor.
