    skunk smell

First, I want to say that it was completely unavoidable! I hit a skunk last night with the limo and thank goodness we all had a good little laugh about it. Today is another story, and I am wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of it. Seems like there has to be some chemical I can spray to break down the "spray" (other than tomato juice). I have pressure washed it and have fans running but I am afraid once the vehicle gets hot from running it will seriously stink again! Help me please guys!

Living in san diego, there are dead skunks all the time. I run over "dead" ones many times and the smell doesn't seem to stick. But if the skunk actually sprayed your car, that might be a different story. I'll ask around, but hopefully you will be fine because there aren't any poreous spots for the smell to linger(unless it got into your vents). Good luck.

These tactics WILL NOT work very well:
    • pour a tomato juice - it worked on a show - 'Daisy in Love'
    • Spray with lemon or orange citrus
    • Masking agents like perfume or Fabreze

or use a commercial odor-removing compound such as:
    • "Skunk-off" aerosol; get through Vet Clinic, or catalog of dog supplies through dog kennel or pet shop.

    • "Nil-Odor" made by Dow Chemical; follow directions and put couple drops in water, and put on furnace filter to circulate air through; can put on dogs as directed.

    • "Odor-Away" either liquid (use few drops) or aerosol.

    • Rexall "C-D Deodorant" aerosol, can spray furnishings, drapes, etc.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. It is like the smell is in the wheel wells and in the undercarriage of the limo! There is a faint odor in the car but very minimal. At this point my nose may just be ruined forever! What a drag!!
