View Full Version : BS Drug Tests

My drug testing company told me last month that I had until the end of December to take my drug test that I was randomly picked for in July. I told them I didn't know about my selection and they told me not to worry as long as I took it before the end of the year. I rushed right in and took it. I got a letter this month telling me I've been randomly selected again. I call them to see if my test on 12/21 test results are sufficient and they tell me no, but that I have until the end of march to take my test. I ask them if that's the way it is for all employees at all companies(or just owner/operators) and they told me yes. I then asked them if I had suspicion of a particular employee and wanted him tested, what would be the deadline, and they told me I could determine that however I wanted. Then I was told that even if someone fails their drug test, I am the only one that is informed(no PUC, no CHP). This mandatory drug testing is just a big joke and a waste of time and money. The only thing it's good for is sending in new employees(that day) and sending in current employees that you suspect.
Plus, they let you walk into a bathroom by yourself to collect your urine sample. Hello? There are many readily available products to beat these tests when not viewed.
That's just my 2 cents.

I had one part time employee that got tested three times last year. And I never even got called up. I believe it is a big joke too. I would prefer to just test that CDL employee once a year versus random pool of testing.
Now it cost be $75.00 to test an employee on a USDOT form, but If i was to do a pre employment test it only costs $47.50 and the same test are done.

Man, everyone I've taken is in a bathroom, with an old lady standing outside with the door ajar, the sink is encased with plastic with the water faucets taped off, and plastic covering the toilet bowl and the flush handle taped.

At least you civilians get a chance to study for the piss test. In the Marines it was announced during morning formation with no time to prepare.

Prior to my current job I was an admin for the testing program. When an employee was selected, we personally had to get the employee and go thru the steps required by the FAA and DOD. No notice, or time to get r done.
Current job is DOT regulated. Your pulled off your bus, (Transit) taken to the collection center and have three (3) hours to wizz in the cup. No wizz, blood test!!!
Can I come to CA and drive?

or what I beleived to be standard USDOT regs is this.
When we get the pull notice, the driver can not work again until they have submitted.
They can finsh the day out , but must come in aad test prior to going back on the schedule. The place that we go is open until 10pm every night, so really no excuse for not getting it done.

Up here they wont even let you go to the bathroom with any jacket or any contents in your pockets - so this way you will not bring anything to beat it. :)

Why do they care what you do to yourself in the privacy of the bathroom.
I mean if you want to go in there and "beat it", isn't that your choice ?
Besides, I thought all the homeless in NY just "beat it" right on the streets.

Yeah, I came back from visiting my mom in amsterdam and they had standing orders to walk me to the head and submit a piss test as soon s I reported in. I had this big, nasty sgt. bent over and staring at me as I gave a sample. Talk about stage fright. My staff sgt. thought he had me for sure. But I don't have glaucoma.
Well it sounds like my testing company is a lot more incompetent than all of yours. We have months to show up and we go into the bathroom unsupervised. Oh, they do tell us not to flush the toilet. It's a big joke.

The hospital we go to here does not go with you to the bathroom. They do frisk you, the water is shut off (you have to use their sink to wash your hands, I can't imagine how dirty the door handle is), and not allowed to flush. Supposedly we have 1 week to report once notified. I heard of a guy failing once because of Gatorade. He was drinking Gatorade in his car before walking in to make sure he would be able to "go". A nurse happened to walk past and seen him. When he signed in, the same nurse was at that station and they failed him for trying to "mask" the drug screen. I guess Gatorade is supposed to cover some drugs.

Interesting. I would go psychotic if they failed me for that. I definately wouldn't pay.

Mine just maks us empty our pockets and lay the jacket inside the room. We have to leave the door open while peeing and not allowed to flush or wash our hands till the the container is give to the person in charge.
