I'm starting a new limo service with a tie-in with a hotel. I will have a home base with a credit card machine, HOWEVER, my question is--what type of credit card machine should I have in the limo to generate the final bill for our services? Many times the doorman will, without advanced notice, call for a car. I will not have the opportunity to run the credit card throught the machine at our home office. Please walk me throught the steps of accepting payment on the spot using a credit card.
Thanks!

When we first started out we carried the credit card companies phone number along with our own merchant number, that way we could always contact the credit card company and get an authorization right away. We did this because it saved us money now we have someone in the office to run credit cards. Or you can call Apriva 1-877-233-3845 this is a pocket size credit card swiper it can be used anywhere you go, or check them out at www.apriva.com (http://www.apriva.com). Or contact your local bank they too have these portable units available.
Better yet if your on good terms with the hotel you can have the charges put on their room and the hotel will give you cash.
Good Luck
