One of the considerations when starting a business is to gauge the price of Keywords on the internet. Typically, the price of Keywords in a particulary industry will tell you how competitive the marketplace is ...

The limo industry marketplace for keywords is extremely saturated with top keywords now costing more than $1.00 per click. I thought that was bad until...

I saw the cost of keywords for website hosting companies ...

Get this ... $6.90 PER CLICK for keywords relating to web hosting. Can you imagine paying $6.90 for a click-thru -- someone can maliciously cost you $100 in about 30 seconds! And I thought we had it bad. Those poor web hosting companies....

Too bad Interland isn't up there ... I'd probably throw them a couple "malicious" clicks.

I was just curious as to what you were refering to as costing that much per click? Is it for advertising you have on other sites?

Most internet companies/websites have to pay "per-click" in the search engines to get their sites listed. The per-click cost is usually based on a BID BASIS.

Those who bid the highest get top billing. So naturally, the costs get quite pricey. For webhosting, it was more than 6 bucks a click!

This is why I stick with the free listings until I have something making money... http://limos.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
