I am researching starting a limo service in the St. Louis area. I am looking at buying one late 90's lincoln and running the business out of my home until things get going. Is this a bad idea? Also, I've read so many "horror" stories. So many people make it sound like it's more hassle than it's worth. Is this true, or is it that no one talks about the good stuff on the message board. I really want to try this, but I'm very nervous. Also, any advice for financing a small limo operation?
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Christian

Christian,
The limo business can be very rewarding, yet very taxing. As a starting operation, expect the early going to be rough - and then once you get going, expect to be "on-the-go" for 7 days a week, 24-hours a day. I remember when I was in the business I was going non-stop for days without a day off. Once you are in the business as a small operator, it seems you never can step away from the business.
If this is OK and up your alley, the business may be for you. There are a lot of other people on this board who can also give you some insight.
