View Full Version : starting a business in NJ

Hello all - I have been reading a lot of the postings and have found out that there is a lot of knowledge on this site. I, along with 2 of my friends, are thinking about starting a car/limo service. We are all college educated and have 9-5 coporate jobs. We feel that getting a loan to start is within our reach. Unfourtunately, we really know nothing about the industry. We are thinking of starting with 4-5 town cars, 2-3 vans and 2-3 limos. We have taken insurance, gas, tolls, parking, salaries, advertising, and of course the cost of cars into consideration......what else are we missing? What kind of fees/licenses are needed? We live (and would work) out of northern NJ. Newark airport is less than 20 minutes away and the NY airports are 45 minutes away. Manhattan is 25 minutes away and we are in close proximity to atlantic city and Philidelphia. Any information, including anything about insurance and fees, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
