Duh I'm sorry -- one look at your profile would have revealed that you are in Tom's River NJ -- sorry for the oversight.
For starters, you may want to check out TomMazza.com -- he's a consultant for new and existing operators. He may be worth checking out.
The market in Ocean County NJ is a tough one to start out in -- have you determined a vehicle you'd like to start with? What kind of operating funds are you working with?

we are starting out in pretty good shape. their are 3 of us. with real good credit standing. we think we want to start with a 6 passenger and a 10 passenger. why do you say ocean county is tough, i thank you for your replies and looking foward to hearing from you.

I think everyone would agree to start with 10-pax because then you can be "eligible" to service all types of clients. A second vehicle as a good choice would be a Sedan to accomodate more airport and corporate type jobs.

New Jersey is a tough market insofar as rules, regs, permits, insurance, etc. Also, your proximity to New York may subject you to "rules" there when crossing state-lines, in addition to doing work in the Philadelphia area.
I try to be knowledgable on all areas (even places like Brisbane Australia! ha ha) but simply can't recant exact specifics. Monte Carlo Limousine (Woodbury NJ) was just mentioning in another topic somewhere on the Forum about how New Jersey regulates limousines to a maximum of 8 passengers, regardless of limo size! This puts a damper on your ability to "legally" do larger lots of work.
If someone in NJ could comment as they would be better fitted to answer this than me.
