I purchased a 2001 Krystal 120R last year that had 9,000 miles on it. I bought it from Krystal as they had repoed the car. We have noticed that the paint is bubbling up on the drivers side middle panel below the two stretch windows. A local body and paint guy told me there must have been moisture on the panel when the clear coat was applied. Not a big deal but it will take the car out of service for 3 days which will kill me. I am going to contact Krystal to see if they will pay for the repairs. Ill let you know what they say. Otherwise this has been a great car.

We just took delivery on a 2004 140" Krystal Excursion. It was nice to see that they had taken the time to put together a basic owner's manual including some sections with details on the use of the electronics and fuse box. How many coachbuilders do this?
Unfortunately it appears they have not updated it to pertain to the SUV limos yet as most of the data in the manual referred to the towncar and cadillac. A+ for effort. B- for content.

My previous company (computer industry) was maniacal on users manuals. I wish we could get the coachbuilders in this industry there...

Hey Tex,

Aside from the manual issue how do you feel about your new Krystal Excursion?

There have been several small defects. We are still breaking it in. To date:

1) One AC vent hose not attached/working
2) Improper fastening of a coolant hose resulted in a leak at the rear AC/Heater unit. Coolant drained all over the carpet in the baggage area before we noticed it.
3) Loose wiring under dash is causing a buzzing noise. Haven't figured out which wire harness yet but when jiggled the noise will stop. Also stops when you press the brakes or turn on the blinkers. (any ideas?)

Aesthetically our clients love the vehicle and none of the above are noticeable to the client.

An update on our 2004 Excursion bought in May. Overall very happy with the car and the clients love it. Update on some of the issues we have had though:

1) Minor annoyance reported in my last post - Intermittent clicking noise under dash has been happening since the purchase. Found out today that another operator in my town is reporting the same problem. I will be notifying Krystal of it today.
2) Decanters, although beautiful, are very, very delicate and break easy. Two were broken in this car with first 30 days of service. None of my other vehicles has ever had a broken decanter.
3) Rear dimmer switch in rear does not appear to function right (basically it doesn't really dim well at all). Wasn't sure if it was operating properly or not until I checked with another local company and now I know we definitely have a problem. Will be reporting it to Krystal today.
4) One of my guys reported noticing the start of bubbling paint last week. I just re-read Wade's post and need to go over to our shop and check the car myself. Will re-post back my findings.

Wow, I bet that was a mess!! You are talking about the very smooth and rounded decantuers here right Tony? We got the square beveled glass sort of standard ones and I have never hear of one of those breaking. Those smooth flowiing ones are new to Krystal for only about 2 years now, since the inception of the V bar, I bet you are not the only one they are breaking on. Good Luck!!

Tony I just had to have the entire drivers stretch panel on my 2001 Krystal 120R redone. It had to be stripped down to the bare metal and repainted. The funny thing is the body shop that did the work for me told me there was no need for any body filler to be put on the side panel, it was perfectly straight. These body panels are now made from aluminum. The problem seems to arise if the aluminum was cold at the time of putting the body filler on. It seems that if any moisture such as the cold panel heating up after the body filler is applied will want to rise to the surface eventually. It took about 8 months for this to happen to me. Everywhere they put the body filler the paint started bubbling. It took a week and $1500 to get the problem fixed. The other side has not had this problem yet. We can only guess that maybe the drivers side was done early in the morning and the other side later in the day when the temperature was warmer.

Steve - that is correct. I was so disappointed that I haven't even replaced them. Just put in a re-order today ($50-$60 each) and I am going to make sure and bump up our glass breakage fee in our contract when they arrive and give it another try. Apparently at least one of them has changed so we'll see what arrives next week.
If I were in the market for one of these vehicles in Atlantic City I would insist on a free extra set of Decanters as part of the deal...

i have bought all of my limousines from krystal, and my newest addition the 2005 120Z is a most excellent car that all passengers go crazy over, and pay good money for (95-110 and hour for a 10-passenger)

I am looking next at the Krystal H2

Also, if anyone owns a krystal limo prior to 2003, like my 2001 120Z, CHANGE THE ALTERNATOR TO A SINGLE BELT trust me it will save you thousands of dollars and problems. Where my alternator was loacted, one little sccrew was tthrowing my belt off numerous times and for over 2 months i was in and out of the mechanic, once i changed the system to a single belt like the new models, no problems.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a new 2005 hummer? Krystal, Moonlight, Coastal, or pinnacle?

2007 H2 Hummer stretch windows coming loose/detached at the leading edge on both the driver and passenger side. If you have a new one be sure to check for this! Going in for repair tomorrow.

Anyone had an issue with glass breakage during removal of one of these?
