When the man at the auto repair shop told me that it would cost $1400 to fix my car's air conditioning, I just laughed at him and said, "Hell, I can fix it myself for a whole lot less than that!"

MY MOMMA DIDN'T RAISE NO FOOL !!!!!!!

You can put my picture here.
Last June, on a saturday morning, the temp is around 80 degrees at 8am. I am cleaning the car and I notice that the AC is not putting out much cold air. As I am driving in town, I notice a repair shop open and pull in. Mech. says "no way, I can not do a limo especially today".
I called my regular mech. to see if he was available. He says bring it over.
He filled the freon and it cost $150. Later that night, in the middle of a wedding, the AC quits putting out cold air.
Monday, I return to the mech. and he finds a bad valve. Has to order it from the East coast and gets it on Thurs. Dumps the froen, replaces the valve and refills with freon. Around $400 parts and labor.
After running the car about 2 hours, the AC quits putting out cold air.
Hey, there is another valve.
Dumps the freon, drills out the valve, as he didn't get a 2nd valve, and refills freon. Another $400.
But hey, at least I have cold AC.
Time to look for a new mech. You bet but I cannot find anyone willing to get me in when there is an emergency.
Out close to $1000 but doing what I have to do to
KEEP THOSE BIG CARS ROLLING

I started being told about this new mechanic that has been fixing taxi cabs -crown vics for about 2 years now. And everyone likes his work. He has a big garage and even is thinking about putting a big lift outside for limos. Knowing that Crown vics and Towncars share many of the same parts, I started bringing my towncars and then my limos to him. I was surprised that he had every small and big part in stock and in his shop. And by working on these cars day in and out they have seen and fixed every problems. He even had 5 crown vics and 2 towncars in the back as part cars for emergency or for customers who don't want to wait or spend for new parts. And my life has been easy with less downtime. Normally you put a car in shop and wait for parts, that might take 2 days. But having everything in stock for this guy has made life easy for us for less downtime. So my advise look for a mechanic, normally located near the Airport that works on livery cars. They understand that we need the car fast and done right. Talk to your local cab drivers, they know a lot of these places. By the way this guy only charges $100 plus tax to check and load up the freon.

Sometimes when we use the same Mechanic all the time they think that we will not be going anywhere else. But there are people out there, just like us limo guys fighting for new business.
