Please don’t get me wrong, but is using good grammar and spelling really that hard?

I wish you nothing but good luck with your new endeavor.

Please revise grammar.

Oh, come on now... you know it's so easy to type "2" instead of "to" and "b4" instead of "before".

Professionalism at it's best.

My apologies, I'm in a Hummer limo during rush-hour traffic... and dumb-bunnies keep cuting me off.

Oh no, I was/am sitting in a parking lot on the laptop. I always shut the lid on the lappy when driving. I posted that right after I parked.

I do love my Verizon hi-speed card and inverter though, the lappy stays on-line during all of my runs, it helps when I need to find an address for the GPS quick. Gotta be hi-tech these days.

Yup, they are fantastic for staying in touch while on the road. Great for smaller operators who don't have an office staff to reply to quote and info requests in a timely manner.

Limo Anywhere, my laptop and my Verizon EVDO-Rev-A card have made all the difference for my operation. They pay for themselves and the associated monthly fees in no time at all.

And-they are great time killers for those trips with big wait times.

I would say quite candidly, in a business where crisp suits, polished shoes, clean fingernails, smart brochures and professional communication are all a must - you're not going to make it.

I read your post after a long, busy and frustrating day. Reading the above only frustrated me further. But just to start out:

"hey guys how are u,new to the board as well as industry have a few ques anyone would care 2 give they input on would be great help."

Hey guys! How are you? I'm new to the board and the industry as well, and I have a few questions. Would anyone care to give me their input? It would be a great help.

1 – Why buy a Mercedes Sedan as the first startup vehicle. You will encounter high cost all the way around. Our company has a Mercedes S550 in our fleet. It pays for itself working a couple of weddings a month. But it my boss’s personal car as well, so vehicle doesn’t need to work. Why not start out with the Lincoln Town Car – A true workhorse of the industry. It’s much less expensive and you will see your profits much more quickly.

2 – Our company operates out of Texas – I wouldn't have the slightest idea.

3 – It’s a personal preference. I think that the black interior just looks a lot better then say a white interior. Nothing looks better than a black on black vehicle.

4 – Dean gave you an excellent example. Have you thought about attending any of the future limo shows? You can learn a lot by attending. This forum itself is a great learning tool as well.

No it did not ur life turned out great right.Thank u

most guys that post here on the forum, have our shit together. Most of the owners here have been doing this for a long time.

Search this limo forum and you will have so much knowledge and answers.

In trying to know this business, no one will hold your finger and tell you to do things this way or that way.

If you want to learn this business, work part time for a limo company and see how things are done.

Buying a car is the most easiest thing to do. Getting insurance, licenses and then clients is the thing that needs to be looked at.

You want to learn? Pay attention to the information given to you. I deal with presidents of units of Chevron, Arco, Shell Oil, Dreyer's Ice Cream. I deal with Chairmen of powerful boards. I deal with educated funeral directors and business people. We are professionals at all times whether on the Internet, in a formal business letter or in person. The business is made up of professionals with an EYE FOR DETAIL! The EYE FOR DETAIL is most important. Spelling, punctuation and poor abbreviations that come from the level of a 20 year old are NOT acceptable in THIS BUSINESS.

I am offering you valuable advice for free. I get paid to offer advice as a consultant and a writer for LCT Magazine. It is probably the writer in me that cringes at your horrible spelling, poor choices of abbreviations etc.

I remain focused to helping you. Sorry I don't sugar coat. This youthful style of writing is NOT acceptable so deal with it. Write like a professional and you will be treated like a professional here. I will give you advice on anything you ask and I have been in this business a long time. Take the free advice starting with below:

Corrected Version
I am very much able to take criticism and learn. That is why i have read almost every post on this board just to learn. Which is why I can’t understand all the big fuss over using what is called Internet abbreviations (all on abbreviations.com). If I were writing a formal e-mail or this was a letter or my business cards for that matter, you would be 100% right. But this is a message board where abbreviations are used commonly, in names, post titles, (ex.. limo biz,limos4u). Why such a big deal to a common practice? Are you here to advise and discuss or tell someone they are not gonna make it or call names? Are you guys still affected by your childhoods? Well, enough of that. I will try 2 opps. Sorry sir, I will try to make sure I use correct grammar at all times.

Your grammer and sentence structure tells a lot about your interpreted intellegence. I'm not trying to say your dumb, but, you don't come across as an intelectual to others on here.

Go back through the fourms past postings. A little time spent researching and you'll find all your answers and then some.

These people don't have time to help set up someone elses business.

Good Luck in what ever you decide.

Your sudden improvement of grammar shows, that you at least learned this one thing from your own thread http://limos.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Read all other relevant posts in this forum and you may be on the right way...

Good luck, and keep the good grammar up!

NYACE, I hope you will stay here on the forum. There is lots of good advice available just for the asking. I wasn't trying to bust your chops as much as I was trying to tell you - in THIS business, you are dealing with uber rich people that can afford LUXURY transportation. Most people that can afford luxury transportation are highly educated people and poor spelling, grammar and abbreviations would, in fact, be a turn off to them.

I hope you learned a little about our business here and will continue to ask for and offer advice. That is what the forum is all about.

hey guys, with out a doubt i plan to stay with the forum trying to learn as much as i can. I dont mind the busting of chops as long as its not meant to insult and rather used to teach. I also must admit that some valid points where made in regards to the type of people u deal with in this business, which calls for a certain level of professionalism is not just requirede but derserved. So i will take the advice and try to pay more attetion to my grammer, its a bad habit due to the new age of text meassaging.i wanna try to learn more from the ground up so here i am,thanx a lot.

My little comment sure did lead to a larger discussion. One does have to remember that this is an industry forum. People post on this forum to get professional advice or talk about industry topics. It's also one thing to be texting a friend on your cell; it’s another asking for professional advice from the industry. I also know that at times we all don't use the most proper grammar or have a mistyped/misspelled word here or there, and that can be forgiven – but I had to quite literally read your post a couple of times to understand what you were asking.
