Hi all and I welcome myself to the forum.

I like the business.

I've got some 4 years office experience for a limo business in midwest nj. I'm going to be buying a 2004 Lincoln TC-E with about 250k miles for $5500. Car rides real good (newer tran) and still in really good shape (seems obvious, also mechic verified)... interior, exterior, mechanically.

I should be able to put together a real nice website for cheap and plan on marketing agressively and strategically... I will have lot space if i were to grow.

With that being said

My first question is, what licenses are necessary in this state to begin servicing the area... besides of the insurance? Where do I start?

Second question is what is expected (a wide range is fine) for these total startup fees including insurance. I am 28.

Boss doesn't know yet so I ask here although he won't mind.

Chris- Welcome to the forum. Hopefully your boss doesn't look at this forum?!

Check with your states DOT office and also the Secretary of State office for a business license to operate in the state. The DOT will inform you of what your required to have.

If your currently working for a company, ask your boss over coffee, what all was involved in their start up. They will probably like telling their success story to you.

Plan on spending a lot of $ on every area. Vehicle, office, licenses, insurance, advertising, ect., ect., ect....

Good Luck to you!

Maybe your boss would give you a chance to move up and someday manage the place?
